A lattice box or lattice box pallet , Gibo for short , is a loading aid in conveyor technology consisting of a steel frame lattice construction . Four feet enable the box pallet to be picked up from all four sides using a forklift truck . Angle attachments are attached for stacking the boxes.

Sizes

Euro mesh box

This is also known as a low lattice box and is the only one standardized by EPAL and approved as an exchange pallet in the European pallet pool for intralogistics .

The external dimensions are 835 mm in width, 1240 mm in length and 970 mm in height, the internal dimensions are 800 mm in width, 1200 mm in length and 800 mm in height, the empty weight is approx. 70 kg (up to 2011 approx. 85 kg), the usable volume is around 0.75 m³. The load (1,000–1,500 kg), the load (4,400–6,000 kg) and thus the number of stackable units (three to five pieces) vary depending on the manufacturer and quality. Euro pallets can be put on.

In practice, block storage with up to seven stacked mesh boxes are common (max. 800 kg / mesh box with 7 layers). The two existing front wall flaps are rotatably mounted around a horizontal axis. The flaps are used to better remove the loaded goods.

Each box must bear the year of construction and the name of the manufacturer. The test is carried out using a random sample procedure (classification into critical, main and minor defects), which is precisely defined in the standard, and includes the dimensions, assembly, the nature of the floor, the paint and the material of the mesh box.

There are also foldable lattice boxes that save up to 80% space during return transport.

Other dimensions

The half- height lattice box is about half as high, with otherwise the same dimensions.

There are a number of other dimensions and variants that cannot all be described here. The high lattice box is 1.8 m higher, with the same dimensions as the low lattice box, and has a useful volume of approx. 1.6 m³ and a flap at the front. The large lattice box has a usable volume of approx. 3.2 m³ with twice the width and otherwise the same dimensions as the high lattice box. It also has a flap in the front.
