Giuseppe Francesco Lolli (* 1701 in Bologna ; † August 11, 1778 in Salzburg ) was court conductor and tenor in Salzburg.

Life

In 1722 Lolli joined the Salzburg court orchestra as a tenor and was appointed vice conductor in 1743. As the successor to Johann Ernst Eberlin , he rose to court conductor in 1762 . Leopold Mozart , who had hoped for the position, became vice conductor. Under Archbishop Colloredo, Domenico Fischietti was put at his side because of his old age. Leopold Mozart reported about Lolli: “Apart from a few oratorios for the chamber he has almost nothing, but for the church he has a number of masses and the like. Vesper psalms written. "His work includes both secular (secular vocal and instrumental works) and sacred compositions (masses, church sonatas, etc.)
