Giuseppe Vacciano (born September 15, 1972 in Naples ) is an Italian politician.

Life

Giuseppe Vacciano completed vocational training at a bank and graduated in 1991 with an accountant examination. In 1994 he applied to the Banca d'Italia and was initially employed in Ravenna . He has been working in the Latina branch since 2006 .

Vacciano applied for the post of mayor in Latina in 2011 with the support of Beppe Grillo , chairman of the MoVimento 5 Stelle (M5S) party founded in 2009 , but received just over 1 percent of the vote. Vacciano was elected to one of the seats in the Italian Senate in the 2013 general election that belonged to the M5S.

As a result, Vacciano did not always vote with the M5S parliamentary group, but occasionally also cast white ballots, which amounted to the support of the Italian government provided by the Partito Democratico . He left the M5S parliamentary group on September 29, 2013. In December 2014, he submitted his resignation to the Senate President in order to end the conflict and to be able to devote himself to his profession again. The Senate must approve a waiver of the mandate with a majority decision, but the waiver is usually initially rejected so that the Senate member has time to review his reasons, as happened on February 15, 2015. The Senate also voted in the second vote on 16 September 2015 the resignation discarded. Reasons for this are suspected in party arithmetic, because the successor would then be provided by the M5S, which is in opposition to the alliance of the Renzi government .
