Although Glösinghausen does not officially have its own district, it has its own entrance signs

Glösinghausen is a small town in the Minden-Lübbecke district on the northern slope of the Wiehengebirge , near the entrance to the Eggetal .

The landscape is still in the Lübbecker Loessland area . The houses in the village are between 94 and 113 meters above sea level. The place belongs to the city of Preußisch Oldendorf , but does not have the status of a separate district, but administratively belongs to the Bad Holzhausen district .

Glösinghausen is the namesake for the 289 meter high Glösinghauser Berg , which rises around 1.7 kilometers southeast of the village in the Wiehen Mountains . Since the village is a bit remote, it is popularly not considered part of Bad Holzhausen. The village consists of around a dozen houses and a corresponding number of households. The Glösinghausen hiking car park is located on the southern edge of the village, right on the edge of the forest . About 1.8 kilometers south of the village, 600 meters southwest of the Glösinghauser Berg, in the Wiehengebirge, directly at the three-community corner Rödinghausen-Hüllhorst-Preußisch Oldendorf , (but just in the Preußisch Oldendorfer area) is the Glösinghauser Hütte . This hut, right on the Wittekindsweg , is in fact a simple weather shelter, a kind of shelter. The hut is located directly at the trigonometric point 239.2.
