Gladys Taylor
Gladys Taylor (first marriage McCormack, second Bird; born March 5, 1953 in Jamaica ) is a former British sprinter and hurdler .
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she was seventh in the 4-by-400-meter relay and reached the quarter-finals over 400 m .
In 1982 she was at the European Athletics Championships in Athens fifth in the 4-by-400-meter relay . At the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane she was starting fourth for England in the 400 m and in the 4 x 400 meter relay . The following year she retired from the 1983 World Athletics Championships in Helsinki over 400 m hurdles in the preliminary run.
At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, she was fourth in the 4-by-400-meter relay and reached the semifinals over 400 m hurdles .
In 1984 she became English and British champion in the 400 m hurdles .
