history

The company was founded in 1912 by Otto Peters. In 1936 his son Emil Peters took over the management of the company and its now international activities. The company has been run in the third generation by Wilhelm Peters since 1980, whose son Jan-Wilhelm Peters joined the management team in 2008. At the beginning of October 2017, Wilhelm Peters received the Culture Prize of the City of Paderborn.

Field of activity

New products

The company makes new products using all known processing techniques. The collaboration with glass artists (including Wilhelm Buschulte , Clemens Hillebrand , Tobias Kammerer , Jochem Poensgen , Johannes Schreiter , Alexander Beleschenko , Martin Donlin ) is intensively cultivated.

The Peters Glasmalerei is the only workshop that has devoted itself to individual glass design in connection with photovoltaics and has already carried out some beautiful projects worldwide using this very innovative, future-oriented technology, including “Lux Nova”, a wind tower on the grounds of the University of Vancouver, a primary school in Portland, Oregon, the Avenue Branch Library in San José, California, the District City Hall in Antwerp-Deurne.

Restoration and reconstruction

A special focus is the restoration and reconstruction of historical glass paintings. The restoration and conservation of the Gothic west window of Altenberg Cathedral , the windows of Seville Cathedral and the restoration of a window of Notre-Dame de Chartres Cathedral in France were recognized worldwide . Peters stained glass is the only workshop in which four qualified restorers accompany and supervise all projects.
