Gleb Pavlovich Akilov

Gleb Pawlowitsch Akilow , Russian Глеб Павлович Акилов , English transcription Gleb Pavlovich Akilov, (born January 24, 1921 in Novaya Ladoga , Soviet Union ; † September 2, 1986 ) was a Russian mathematician who dealt with functional geometric analysis .

Akilov received his doctorate in Saint Petersburg in 1947 and later taught at the university. He was a student of Leonid Kantorowitsch and is best known for his textbook on functional analysis with Kantorowitsch, which was first published in 1959. He dealt with the theory of locally convex spaces in the 1950s.
