Glenn Helder

Glenn Helder (born October 28, 1968 in Leiden ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Helder came from the youth department of Ajax Amsterdam and moved to Sparta Rotterdam in 1989 , where he played 93 games and scored nine goals. In 1993 he moved to Vitesse Arnheim , scoring 12 goals in 52 games for this club.

Helder moved to Arsenal on February 14, 1995 and made his debut in the 1-0 home win over Nottingham Forest on February 21. Helder stayed with Arsenal until October 1997. In late 1996, shortly after Arsène Wenger was appointed as coach, Arsenal loaned him to Benfica , where he suffered a serious injury. He was then replaced by Marc Overmars in the summer of 1997 .

He was on the pitch four times for the Dutch national team .
