Global classroom

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Global Classroom project is an amalgamation of several schools with the aim of international cooperation with other schools. It was founded in 1996 and now comprises more than ten schools.

The project is divided into:

Learning School

In the Learning School project, an international group of students visits the individual participating schools and examines and compares the learning conditions at the individual schools. The project is supported and scientifically accompanied by the University of Cambridge ( Great Britain ) and Nara ( Japan ).

Extended partnership

This project offers students from the participating schools the opportunity to spend a year abroad at one of the other schools.

Conference

At this conference, the participating schools prepare presentations on a given topic for a year. These are then brought together in an annually changing host school and dealt with in discussions. In 2006 the conference took place at the Women's University Secondary School in Nara, Japan, and in 2007 at the Graf Friedrich School in Diepholz . The conference was held in Zlin in 2008 and on the Shetland Islands in 2009. In 2016 the conference was in Ridgewood, New Jersey and in 2017 in Canberra, Australia.
