The Glommen was a Danish warship rigged as a brig , launched in 1791 . It was captured by the British on September 7, 1807 after the second naval battle of Copenhagen and was given the name HMS Glommen . On January 21, 1808, she was renamed HMS Britomart , but her name was changed back to HMS Glommen in the same year in favor of a new ship that was named HMS Britomart . In November 1809 she ran aground under the command of Captain Charles Pickford in Carlisle Bay , Barbados and sank. The crew was saved by the frigate Gloire .
