Glucydur

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glucydur is an alloy of copper , beryllium and iron . This alloy has special mechanical properties . Glucydur is anti-magnetic , resistant to corrosion , has a hardness of 400 Brinell and a low coefficient of thermal expansion .

The alloy is due to its elasticity and stability for most monometallic disturbances as part of the transition control in movements of bracelet or pocket watches used.

The word is made up of the French words Glucinium (an old name for beryllium) and dur (French for hard ).
