Glymur waterfall [ 'klɪːmʏr̥ ] is a 196 meter high waterfall in Iceland, in the municipality of Hvalfjarðarsveit .
Until 2011 it was considered the highest waterfall in Iceland .
geography
The Glymur is located off the main traffic routes on Hvalfjörður , west of Lake Hvalvatn , from which the Botnsá River flows through the Botnsdalur north of Hvalfjall in the direction of Hvalfjörður . The waterfall can be reached after a 3 km hike from a parking lot inside the fjord. Due to the narrow gorge, however, you cannot overlook the entire height.
