Gnaeus Cornelius Dolabella, from the branch of Dolabellae of the Gens of Cornelier, was a Roman politician and senator .
Perhaps he can be identified with Gnaeus Cornelius, who on an inscription as an officer ( military tribune ?) Of Gnaeus Pompeius Strabo at the siege of Asculums in 89 BC. Is called. Dolabella was born in 81 BC. BC praetor (urbanus?) And in this office passed an unjust judgment against Publius Quinctius . From 80 to 79 BC BC he officiated as proconsul of Cilicia . There he shamelessly enriched himself, so that after his return he was charged with extortion by Marcus Aemilius Scaurus . During the trial he was heavily incriminated by his legate Gaius Verres and eventually convicted.
