Godehard Link

Godehard Link (* 7. July 1944 in Eickelborn ) is a German philosopher and Emeritus Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich .

Life

After studying mathematics, which he completed with a diploma, he received his doctorate in philosophy in 1974. In 1978 he completed his habilitation at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. There he became professor of logic and philosophy of science in 1980.

Research and Teaching

From 1995 to 2001 he was the spokesman for the interdisciplinary graduate program Language, Information, Logic (SIL).

From 1995 to 1999 he headed the research project Ontological Reduction in the Light of Metamathematic Methods and, since 2001, together with Menso Folkerts, the research project History of Proof Theory .

In 2001 he organized the international conference One Hundred Years of Russell's Paradox from June 2nd to 5th, 2001 in Munich.

As part of the project Formal Structures and Cognition , which was carried out in cooperation with the Parmenides Center for the Study of Thinking and the Human Sciences Center of the LMU, in 2002 and 2003 he carried out workshops on the subject of "logic and philosophy of science".

From 2004 to 2008 he was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Philosophy of Science and Religious Studies at the LMU.
