Goe on the Hamel

Goe auf der Hamel was a Saxon district in northeast Hameln in the Middle Ages , bordered by the Hamel (river) .

Around 1130 a Count Theoderich von Holthusen is named who, as court lord , held the two dinghies in Münder and Diedersen and whose area was probably between Münder and Hameln.

At the beginning of the 13th century, the Counts of Hallermunt began to build their county in this area . Since 1248 Goe Pattensen , Gestorf , Eldagsen belonged to their territory . Since 1260 they have also owned the Goe on the Hamel.

In the Middle Ages, Groß Hilligsfeld was the seat of the count for the judicial district. In 1586 the Wolfenbüttel Duke Julius assigned the village to the Office of Springe .
