Gold Rush in Slagharen ( Slagharen , Netherlands ) is a steel roller coaster with launch by the manufacturer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides , which was opened on April 13, 2017. The cable car replaced the Schwarzkopf Looping Star , Thunderloop, which was shut down on October 3, 2016 . The railway is a theme after the gold rush in California .
Linear motors (LSM) are used for the launch . The train is first accelerated forwards directly from the station and drives about halfway up the driveway to the Sidewinder . Then the train rolls back and is accelerated backwards up the descent of the dive loop . When you roll back again, the train is accelerated forwards again and then travels the entire route.
Awards
In 2018, the park and the manufacturer of the roller coaster were awarded the "FKF-Award" for innovations from the Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks eV .
