The Looping Star is a steel roller coaster model from Schwarzkopf GmbH .

In 1978, the first model of this roller coaster, built eight times in total, went on a journey as a transportable system at German folk festivals . The showmen Oscar Bruch and Fritz Kinzler presented the first roller coaster with vertical looping in Germany. Another special feature of the system was its new type of cone plug-in system for the rail parts, which made it possible to assemble and dismantle quickly with relatively few supports.

In addition to transportable versions, stationary systems were also built for various amusement parks . Due to the compact design with a flat steel sole, it was relatively easy to implement the stationary tracks. Some of the models changed their location several times.

At the moment only the facility baptized "Vertigo" in the Italian amusement park "Zoomarine" in Rome is operated in Europe. Other railways can be found in the USA, South America and Japan.

After the 24.5 m high lift hill with chain lift and the first drop, which is designed as a curve, the journey leads through the eponymous looping . The strongest forces of up to 4.5 g act on the passengers in the looping entry and exit. This is followed by the eight-shaped route with banked curves and helices. A maximum of three seven-unit trains for 28 people each can be operated on the facilities. This achieves a maximum capacity of 1700 passengers per hour. Unlike many modern roller coasters with inversions, the trains do not have shoulder straps. The passengers are only held in the seat by lap bars.

In addition to the Schwarzkopf roller coaster type, there are and were various roller coasters of other types and manufacturers called Looping Star .
