The Golda Meir School (formerly Fourth Street School ) is a primary school in Milwaukee , Wisconsin , United States . It is run as a magnet school .
The building in the neo-Romanesque style was planned by the architect Henry C. Koch and opened in 1890. The school was attended from 1906 to 1912 by the future Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir and was given its current name in 1979 in her honor.
The Golda Meir School has been listed as a building on the National Register of Historic Places since August 1984 . It has been a National Historic Landmark since December 1990 and is one of 43 historic sites of its type in Wisconsin.
