Golden Shoe (Belgium, women's football)
The Belgian Golden Shoe in women's football ( French Soulier d'or féminin , Dutch Gouden Schoen vrouwen ) is an award that has been presented to the most outstanding female footballer in Belgium since 2017 . The best Belgian player, regardless of the country in which she plays, is awarded. At the same time, there is the Sparkle , which has been awarded since 2015 and is awarded to the best female player in Germany in three different categories.
Like the Belgian Golden Shoe in men's football , the award in women's football is organized by the Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws . As with the men, the winner of the women will also be announced in the course of a television broadcast .
After ten players of Belgian nationality have been selected, the first round of voting takes place, whereupon only three candidates remain. The winner will then be determined in a second round of voting. The first recipient of this award was Tessa Wullaert , at that time a player for VfL Wolfsburg .
Janice Cayman from Montpellier HSC was chosen as the second winner .
In 2019 Tessa Wullaert was again honored with the Golden Shoe.
