The goldentail anemonefish ( Amphiprion sebae ) lives in the coral reefs of the northern Indian Ocean of Aden along the coasts of the Arabian Sea , on the coasts of India and Sri Lanka , near the Maldives , in the Andaman Sea and on the south coast of Sumatra and the coast of the western Java . The scientific name honors the German-Dutch naturalist Albert Seba .

The fish accepted by all symbiotic anemones only Teppichanemone ( Stichodactyla haddoni ) as a partner.

features

The fish have a black basic color; The snout region, abdomen, pectoral , ventral , anal and caudal fins are yellow. Behind the eye, as well as from the rear part of the dorsal fin, two broad transverse ligaments run to the lower edge of the gill cover or to the belly between the pelvic and anal fin. There are also specimens that are completely black apart from the white transverse ligaments as well as the yellow snout region and the also yellow caudal fin root. The black base color can also be brownish, the yellow areas also orange.

The dorsal fin has ten to eleven hard and 14 to 17 soft rays, the anal fin has two hard and 13 to 14 soft rays. Amphiprion sebae becomes up to 16 centimeters long.
