The Gulf of Pozzuoli ( Italian Golfo di Pozzuoli ), also known as Bay of Pozzuoli , is a sea bay in the Tyrrhenian Sea of the Mediterranean off the coast of Campania on the west coast of southern Italy . It stretches from Capo di Posillipo to Capo Miseno on the northwest side of the Gulf of Naples . The Monte Nuovo and Lago Averno are right behind him.
