GommeHD.net is a German Minecraft - multiplayer network with more than 5.2 million users.

History and structure

The network was published on July 28, 2012 by the company Blitz H16-134 GmbH under the domain GommeHD.tk as a subscriber special of the YouTube channel GommeHD . The managing directors at the time were Katja Gogalla and Randi Mette Selnes, employees of Blitzstart, a company that aims to make it easier to found a new company. Christoph Renk took over the management of Blitz H16-134 GmbH on September 2, 2016 and renamed it GommeHDnet GmbH . He founded his other company, IndieLemon GmbH & Co. KG , at the beginning of June 2015; Since September 23, 2016, the two companies have been complementary. In the 2018 financial year, IndieLemon GmbH & Co. KG generated balance sheet sales of 1,098,051.62 euros.

The multiplayer network consists of nineteen publicly accessible modes. Most of these modes are based on PvP . Starting private servers within the network is now also possible against payment of vote tokens, which the player receives for voting on a server comparison site. At the beginning there was only the Hunger Games game mode, which is based on the book series The Hunger Games . Over time, more modes were added and partially replaced older ones. These older modes are still available to users on the private servers within the network after purchasing a premium membership. Web video producers like Simon Unge made the network better known.

The team has ( as of July 3, 2020 ) a total of more than 130 members.

In the technical sense, the network is a proxy network . This means that there is a proxy between the client and the server, which carries out the user transfer. This makes it possible for the user to change servers within the network at will without the user having to reconnect or noticing the server change.

Community

The community can actively participate in the further development of the network, communicate with each other or contact the team. A forum , a support page and TeamSpeak or Discord servers are available for this purpose. Furthermore, the so-called community is an area on the server that can be used for communication among users and with the team.

Badlion client

The Badlion client (short: BLC ) is a modification of the server network of the same name badlion.net . It is supposed to prevent cheating on the user's side through an anti-cheat tool (Badlion-Anticheat, known as "BAC") . The Badlion network has now been closed. Usually the Minecraft server provides the anticheat . BLC is supposed to detect cheats that run while playing and cause a ban that is executed in random ban waves. Also, the Badlion client supports a few other legitimate modifications to make the game more enjoyable.

GommeHD.net supports the BLC as a partner. There are certain advantages and disadvantages that the Badlion client (on GommeHD.net) brings with it:

  • fewer to no server-side anticheat controls
  • own queues (starting with Clanwar queues for BLC players)
  • BLC marking in the TAB list of players
  • Click speed limit to 18 clicks per second (CPS)
