Gonçalo Trastamires

Gonçalo Trastamires (* 1000 ; † September 1, 1039 in Maia , Portugal ) was a knight and regent.

He came from the noble family of Maia . Trastamires was significantly involved in the campaigns in connection with the Reconquista up to the Mondego , in particular in the conquest of the castle of Montemor-o-Velho by the Moors in 1034 . He subsequently became regent of the castle and its lands and tributary areas.
