Gonzalo Bergara

Gonzalo Bergara (* 1980 ) is an Argentine blues rock and gypsy jazz musician (guitar, bandoneon).

Bergara founded his own band at the age of eleven, with which he covered songs by the Argentine rock star Pappo and other classics of blues and rock music . He began performing as a professional musician in Buenos Aires at the age of 16; at the age of 17 he appeared with his own trio on national Argentinian television. In 2000 he moved to the United States; there recordings were made with Tim Hausser , Sylvie Vartan , Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, John Jorgenson and Howard Alden . In 2007 he presented the album Porteña Soledad . The album Classico was created in 2013 as a duo with Adrien Moignard (with bassist Jérémie Arranger) . Currently (2017) Bergara is working with his own quartet (with Jeffrey Radaich, rhythm guitar , Rob Hardt, clarinet, tenor saxophone, and Brian Netzley, double bass), with whom he combines influences from Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France with Argentine music. Bergara toured worldwide and performed at numerous festivals such as the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal , the Playboy Jazz Festival and the Festival in Samois-sur-Seine . In 2009 he released the DVD Live au Throckmorton Theater
