Gonzalo Iturbe
Gonzalo Iturbe Álvarez (born December 21, 1921 in Unquera , Cantabria , † October 29, 1959 ) was a Spanish football player who mainly played in the (defensive) midfield .
career
Iturbe began his career in 1942 at Sevilla FC , where he was under contract until 1945. After the war-related break, he played from 1946 to 1948 for the second division RCD Mallorca , before he was used again for Real Oviedo in the top Spanish division in the seasons 1948/49 and 1949/50 .
After Real Oviedo was relegated to the Segunda División in 1950 , Iturbe moved to Mexico , where he was under contract with Puebla FC until 1954 . In the 1952/53 season , Iturbe won the Mexican Cup competition with the Camoteros .
In 1954 he moved to Deportivo Toluca , for which he played at least until 1956.
