Goode Beach is a place in the Australian state of Western Australia . It's about 7.4 kilometers from Albany on the other side of the bay.
geography
Goode Beach is located on the Torndirrup Peninsula , north of Torndirrup National Park , which encompasses the south coast of the peninsula. Big Grove is to the west , Frenchman Bay to the southeast and the Vancouver Peninsula to the north .
To the east, Goode Beach has about 1.2 kilometers of coastline on Frenchman Bay , a bay on the Great Australian Bight . This consists of the two beaches Goode Beach and Whalers Beach , which is separated by the headland Vancouver Point . Lake Vancouver is also in the village .
history
The place is located in the traditional settlement area of the Aboriginal tribe of the Mineng .
The Goode Beach area was the first to settle on the Torndirrup Peninsula. In 1888 an American seaman who had lived in Albany for nearly 20 years bought land and built a hut. In 1956 the land was acquired by Eric Goode. At the beginning of the 1960s, the site was developed and sold for residential buildings. Originally known as the Frenchman Bay Estate , the site was renamed Goode Beach in 2000; the beach has had this name for a long time.

The town of Goode Beach had a population of 217 people in 2016, of which 46.8% male and 53.2% female. Among them are three Aborigines or Torres Strait Islanders .
The average age of Goode Beach residents is 60 years, 22 years more than the Australian average of 38 years.
