Google Podcasts is a podcast application from Google LLC .
history
Google Podcasts was released for Android devices on June 18, 2018 . The application received great praise for its personalized recommendations, but also criticism for the limited range of functions compared to the competition.
Cast support for Google Podcasts was added in September 2018 .
During Google I / O 2019 , Google announced that Google Podcasts would also be integrated into Google web search. As of May 10, 2019, this feature was already partially available.
Podcast producers can submit their podcasts via their own platform called Google Podcast Manager, claim property rights and analyze data.
In November 2019 the app received a redesign, which is modern and in the in-house design language Material Design .
As of August 2020, Google Podcasts can be accessed in various locations, such as: B. in Google search , in the Google Podcasts app itself, via Google Home speaker systems, in the Google Assistant and in the car via Android Auto .
