Gordon Rattray Taylor
Gordon Rattray Taylor (born January 11, 1911 in Eastbourne , † December 7, 1981 ) was a British writer and journalist .
Taylor was best known in 1968 for his book The Biological Time Bomb , which heralded the rise of biotechnology . A German-language bestseller was The Suicide Program in 1971 , which denounced environmental pollution with scenarios of the end of the world and contributed significantly to increasing environmental awareness in West Germany. In 1983 he was posthumously skeptical of neo-Darwinism in evolutionary theory .
Taylor graduated from Cambridge University . He was a journalist from 1933 and from 1958 at the BBC , where he was known for science programs on television.
From 1976 to 1981 he was a member of the Society for Psychical Research .
