Gorgon's Head (English for Gorgon ) is a mountain of sandstone with Doleriteinschlüssen in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Cook Mountains, it rises southeast of Mount Hughes .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it on March 7, 1991 after the Gorgons from Greek mythology .
