The Gorky children's railway Nizhny Novgorod ( Russian Горьковская детская железная дорога имени М. Горького , Gorkovskaya detskaja schelesnaja doroga imeni M. Gorkowo ) is a narrow-gauge miniature railway in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod . The line opened on November 8, 1939 as one of the many pioneer railroads in the Soviet Union and is still in operation today.
