Gorsedd ([ˈgɔːrsɛð]; plural Gorseddau [gɔrˈsɛðə]) is the name for a Welsh, Cornish or Breton bard association . Gorsedd is Welsh and means throne . In Cornwall , the term Gorsedh and in the Brittany Goursez used.

If the term is used without an addition, it usually refers to the Gorsedd of Wales, who calls himself Gorsedd Beirdd Ynys Prydain (Gorsedd the bards from the British Isles) or Gorsedd y Beirdd for short . There are also other Gorseddau, such as the Gorsedh Kernow ( Cornish for Gorsedd of Cornwall) and the Goursez Breizh ( Breton for Gorsedd of Brittany).

The Gorseddau were founded to revive and cultivate Welsh, Cornish and Breton traditions, to promote poetry and music, and to develop some literary scholarship in these languages, all of which belong to the Celtic language family. One of the most important and most visible activities of the Gorseddau is the organization and implementation of conferences and festivals such as the Eisteddfod .
