The Gostun Point (English; Bulgarian нос Гостун nos Gostun ) is a non-iced headland on the north coast of Snow Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 2.5 km west-northwest of Karposh Point and 2.5 km east-southeast of Cape Timblón .
British scientists mapped it in 1968. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2006 after the proto- Bulgarian Khan Gostun , predecessor of the Kubrat , the founder of the Greater Bulgarian Empire in the 7th century .
