Goswin from Eikel

Goswin von Eikel (* in the 14th century; † July 18, 1454 in Varlar ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Goswin von Eikel was the son of Henneke von Eikel auf der Horst and his wife Christina Overhus. On August 26, 1417 he was awarded by the encouragement of Pope Martin V. the vacant by the death of canon Bernhard Swartewolt Dompräbende . Goswin is mentioned several times in documents as the canon of Münster. On July 18, 1454 he was involved in the Battle of Varlar and lost his life here for the Moersian party, which was victorious in the fight against Johann von Hoya.
