God's blessed Immanuel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

God's blessed Immanuel , at the time also God's blessed Immanuel , was a tunnel in the Johanngeorgenstadt mountain area in the Saxon Ore Mountains .

location

On the middle Fastenberg , on which Johanngeorgenstadt extends, several pits were operated in the 17th century to mine directly adjacent ore veins . This also included the mine of God's blessed Immanuel am Breitenbach, which was awarded in the Bergquartal Reminiscere in 1680 and which formed the border between the Electorate of Saxony and the Kingdom of Bohemia . The God-blessed-Immanuel-Stollen was excavated on the God-blessed-Immanuel- Spat . At the art and drift shaft of the Frisch-Glück treasure trove , it is connected to the 78-Lachter section of the shaft via two dies. Here the God-blessed-Immanuel-Spat, which falls in north-east direction, crosses the Frisch-Glück-Spat, which falls towards the south-west. After several unsuccessful years, ore was found for the first time in 1708. In the years that followed, the mine brought relatively rich yields, which were listed in detail by the Johanngeorgenstadt local chronicle up to 1722. Between 1708 and 1718, 32 thalers yield per Kux were paid. At the end of 1722, however, the mine had risen to 8,277 thalers.

In the area of the Frisch-Glück-Fundgrube a common mine field was operated until 1805.

Abraham Gottlob Werner had several show pieces from God's blessed Immanuel in his mineral cabinet in Freiberg .

By 1832 979 kg of silver had been harvested. The gallery also became known in the 18th century through the discovery of white cobalt.

The mouth of the tunnel no longer exists today. It was removed when Wittigsthalstrasse was built in 1928. The former hut on the border with the Czech Republic, which is now used as a residential building after being damaged during the flood on July 6, 1931, has been preserved to this day.
