Gottfried Baumann

Gottfried Baumann (born June 13, 1764 in Haßfurt ; † May 30, 1845 in ibid.) Was a German farmer and politician .

Life

Gottfried Baumann was a Bavarian farmer and councilor.

He belonged for the constituency Untermainkreis to the Bavarian state parliament , during its first electoral period from 1819 to 1825 and the second electoral period from 1825 to 1828; before that he was mayor of Haßfurt from 1813 to 1819 . In 1831, after the death of his predecessor Johann Jakob Kehl (1763-1831), he was re-elected mayor of Haßfurt.

Gottfried Baumann was married, his son was the later Mayor of Haßfurt, Joseph Baumann (1802–1875).

Trivia

As part of a school project of the Bavarian State Center for Political Education , the 8th grade of the Schonungen secondary school conducted a fictitious interview with Gottfried Baumann and his son .

  • Baumannstrasse in Haßfurt was named after Gottfried and his son Joseph Baumann.
