Gottfried Deininger

Gottfried Deininger (born September 11, 1898 in Wörishofen ; † August 20, 1968 in Augsburg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

After attending elementary and vocational school, Deininger completed an apprenticeship as a dairy . In 1916 he was drafted into the First World War as a soldier , and was seriously wounded in the process. He was in a hospital until he was released. Due to his serious injury, he had to change his profession and from 1922 worked as district secretary of the Reich Association of War Disabled and Survivors for the administrative district of Swabia , until he was deposed by the National Socialists . From 1933 to 1945 he was arrested four times for political reasons, the last being in Dachau . After the war, Deininger became head of the Augsburg-Land District Welfare Association in June 1945, and shortly afterwards he became a refugee commissioner for the city and district of Augsburg . In 1947 he finally became head of the department for refugee affairs, housing management and burden sharing in the government of Swabia. From 1958 to 1966 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . In 1962 he was directly elected to an Augsburg constituency.
