Gottfried Leiser
Johann Gottfried Leiser (born December 29, 1853 in Sindolsheim ; † February 14, 1922 there ) was a German farmer and politician (DDP).
Life
He came from a farming family, attended elementary school in Sindolsheim and the agricultural winter school in Buchen and then continued his parents' farming. In his hometown he worked as a council clerk from the late 19th century. Generally interested in politics and above all as an expert on the grievances of the peasantry, he began to get involved in politics. He joined the National Liberal Party and gave campaign speeches.
From 1905 to 1913 he was a member of the National Liberals in the 2nd Chamber of the Baden state parliament. After the First World War , Leiser joined the German Democratic Party (DDP). On October 24, 1919, he entered the Weimar National Assembly in a replacement procedure , where he replaced the resigned deputy Emil Engelhard as a representative for constituency 33 (Baden). Leiser belonged to the National Assembly for almost eight months until the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic met in July 1920.
