Gottfried Sälzler (born November 25, 1921 in Mannheim , † July 16, 1968 in Offenburg ) was a German football player and sports official.

Career

Sälzler began playing football in the youth of VfL Neckarau , a district of Mannheim. During the Second World War, he was also active for the Austrian club First Vienna FC and Hertha BSC . With the club from the capital Sälzler became champion of the Gauliga Ostmark in 1943. After the end of the war, the native of Mannheim moved to the Stuttgarter Kickers . For the Blues, Sälzer played eight seasons and was part of the “Hundert-Tore-Sturm” team. In 1950, in addition to his work as a player with the Kickers, he also acted as a trainer for TSF Ditzingen .

After finishing his football career, he remained loyal to the Kickers and was chairman of the game committee in 1958 and president of the traditional Stuttgart club between 1962 and 1963.
