Gottfried Salzsieder (* around 1636 in Danzig ; † April 24, 1710 in Vienna , also Saltzsieder ) was a German actor .

Life

Gottfried Salzsieder attended the Academic High School in Danzig from 1655 . As an actor he can be proven for the first time in 1680 in Johannes Velten's troupe . At that time he already enjoyed an outstanding reputation as a tyrant actor, which is why it can be assumed that he had been an actor for a long time. In 1685 the troop was in the service of the Saxon Elector Johann Georg III. and released after his death in 1691. When Johannes Velten died soon afterwards, Salzsieder remained in Catherina Elisabeth Velten's troupe . Most recently he worked for Joseph Anton Stranitzky in Vienna.
