Gottfried Samuel Polisius

Gottfried Samuel Polisius (also Godofredus Samuel Polisius , * 10. April 1636 in Schwerin on the Warta ; † 17th May 1700 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a German physician and Physicus in Frankfurt an der Oder.

Life

Gottfried Samuel Polisius was the son of the doctor Melchior Polisius and studied medicine with Johann Theodor Schenck at the University of Jena . He then worked first as a doctor in Steinau and then in Züllichau before he became a physicus in Frankfurt an der Oder.

On January 22nd, 1677 Gottfried Samuel Polisius was given the academic surname Homer I under the matriculation number. 71 accepted as a member of the Academia Naturae Curiosorum , today's German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina .
