Gottfried Vossen

Gottfried Vossen (* 1955 in Aachen ) is a German computer scientist . He was Vice President of the Society for Computer Science .

Live and act

Vossen studied (1974–1981), obtained his doctorate (1986) and qualified as a professor (1990) at RWTH Aachen University . From 1991-1993 he was a professor at the University of Giessen .

Since 1993 he holds the chair of computer science at the Institute of Economics computer science the Wilhelms University of Westphalia in Muenster held. There he also works at the European Research Center for Information Systems .

From 2004 to 2006 he was Vice President of the Society for Computer Science .

Vossen is married and has two daughters.
