Gottfried Wolff (banker)

Gottfried Wolff (* 1933 in Buir ) is a German bank manager.

Life

Wolff studied law in Munich, Bonn and Cologne. After two state examination, he was in 1965 with a labor law on "The Federal Holidays Act and collective agreements" at the University of Cologne to Dr. iur. PhD. During his doctorate he worked for Deutsche Bank AG and in 1965 became branch manager at Deutsche Bank in Cologne. In 1973 he took over the management of private customer business at Herstatt-Bank in Cologne ; After the collapse in 1974, he took over the areas of responsibility for lending, corporate and private customers at Dresdner Bank AG in Cologne.

In 1995 he was the initiator of an association for the construction of a Konrad Adenauer memorial in Cologne, which was inaugurated personally by Chancellor Helmut Kohl in 1995 .

Gottfried Wolff is involved in many Catholic honorary offices. He has been a member of the Cartell Association of Catholic German Student Associations (CV) since 1954 and later of the Catholic employers' association BKU .

On October 23, 1972 he was invested in the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien Kardinal de Fürstenberg in Rome . He was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land and is its Grand Crusader. He was secretary of the German Lieutenancy for 23 years. Pope Benedict XVI awarded him the New Year's Eve in 2008 .
