Gotthilf Kächele

Gotthilf Kächele (born June 12, 1888 in Hülben , † August 24, 1969 in Stuttgart ) was a Württemberg master baker and politician.

job

After school Gotthilf Kächele learned to be a baker. He worked as a master baker, most recently as a master baker in Stuttgart. From 1934 to 1939, Kächele was head of the Auditing Association of Commercial Cooperatives in Württemberg eV, then until 1968 Director of the Württemberg Cooperative Association (Schulze-Delitzsch) eV in Stuttgart.

In addition, he had numerous other honorary positions. From 1933 to 1945 and from 1953 to 1969 he was chairman of the state association of Württemberg house and property owners, and since 1953 chairman of the board of directors of the Stuttgart property management company. From 1943 to 1966, Kächele was a member of the supervisory board of the Central Bank Württembergischer Volksbanken eGmbH in Stuttgart. From 1945 to June 1969 Chairman and then Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Stuttgart Bank. Since 1959 he sat on the supervisory board of the technical works of the city of Stuttgart (TWS) and since 1962 of the Stuttgart tram company (SSB).

politics

Kächele belonged to the German National People's Party . From 1926 to 1933 he was a member of the City Council of Stuttgart. Kächele was elected on March 5, 1933 as a member of the DNVP / Black-White-Red Fighting Front in the fifth state parliament of the Free People's State of Württemberg . This 5th Landtag met only once. On June 8, 1933, with the SPD abstaining, an “ Enabling Act ” was passed for Württemberg.

In 1953 he was instrumental in founding the “Independent Citizens 'List / Free Voters' Association” in Stuttgart and, from 1953 until his death, was its parliamentary group leader in the city council of Stuttgart.

Gotthilf Kächele was the son of mayor Matthäus Kächele (1851–1912) in Hülben and Sofie Schwenkel (1850–1918). He had ten siblings, three of whom died early.
