Sigmund Gottlieb Studer

Sigmund Gottlieb Studer (baptized February 12, 1761 in Bern ; † September 7, 1808 ) was a Swiss lawyer and artist .

Studer was a son of the butcher Samuel Studer and his wife Maria Magdalena Hartmann. An older brother was the evangelical reformed pastor, theology professor and natural scientist Samuel Studer . Studer was notary and district court clerk of Konolfingen . During the Helvetic Republic he acted “as clerk of the district of Steffisburg and in mediation until his death as clerk of the Signau District Office ”. He is known as the creator of the panorama work La Chaîne des Alpes vue des environs de Berne . His estate is in the Bern Burger Library .
