Gourcy is a city (commune urbaine) and a department encompassing the same area in the northern region and capital of the province of Zondoma in the West African state of Burkina Faso . With the 38 villages belonging to the area and the main town divided into five sectors, Gourcy has 80,689 inhabitants. It is mainly populated by Mossi . Gourcy is located on the highway from Ouagadougou to Mali and its inhabitants live mainly from agriculture.

Gourcy was the capital of the historical Yatenga Empire .
