The Govecs AG is a 2009 established German manufacturer of electric scooters , electric light motorcycles and transport vehicles with seat in Munich.

history

In August 2013, Govecs opened its factory in Wroclaw. In July 2015, Govecs took over the entire production facilities of the electric scooter manufacturer Vectrix, also based in Wroclaw and insolvent in 2014 . This increased the production capacity from around 5,000 to around 20,000 electric scooters per year.

On September 26, 2016, Govecs presented an electric scooter model in Berlin that looks similar to a Simson KR 51 Schwalbe and was originally developed as an E-Schwalbe at the Suhl location by efw . The E-Schwalbe has an electric drive from Bosch and has been delivered since 2017. The latest version of the Schwalbe was presented at the International Bicycle, Motorcycle and Accessories Fair in Milan ( EICMA ) 2017 . This is now available as an electric light motorcycle. With a top speed of 90 km / h and a continuous output of 8 kW, this is the fastest Schwalbe ever built .

At EICMA 2017, Govecs also presented the connected Elly e-scooter . It is designed for the end consumer market and should convince with a good price-performance ratio. The Elly can be paired with a smartphone.

In July 2018, Govecs took over the Elmoto brand from ID-Bike GmbH in Stuttgart. An IPO planned for 2018 was canceled as there were not enough buyers for the shares. In April 2020, Govecs will take over the Munich startup LiveCycle from insolvency under self-administration .

technology

Govecs develops electric scooters. Lithium-ion accumulators , some of which can be removed, provide energy . Robert Bosch GmbH is a cooperation partner for drive technology. It supplies batteries, motors and displays for all Govecs models. In addition, the German automotive supplier is the largest service partner. All Govecs scooters are manufactured in Wroclaw, Poland.

Govecs offers two product lines on the business-to-business market. On the one hand the GO! S range, it consists of four different electric scooters. These differ in the battery capacity and thus in the range. They are approved for 2 people. On the other hand, the GO! T series, whose drive is technically similar to that of the GO! S series. All e-scooters in this series are equipped with a flexible fastening system at the rear of the vehicle with which transport boxes with a maximum capacity of 180 liters can be attached. The GO! T models are approved for one person.

swallow

Govec's swallow

On September 26, 2016, Govecs introduced the swallow . The name is based on the earlier small scooter 51 "Schwalbe" by Simson from Suhl in Thuringia. In terms of shape, there are clear parallels to the earlier Schwalbe. Technically, the two vehicles have little in common. However, some details have been adopted almost unchanged, including the lettering "Schwalbe" and the luggage rack. The vehicle was originally developed by efw as an E-Schwalbe at the Suhl site and was already on a promotional tour with media coverage from 2011. The start of series production was announced for 2012. In fact, the series production did not materialize. Years later, GOVECS secured the license rights and successfully brought the project to series production. Pre-orders for the new Schwalbe were accepted from the end of 2016. Delivery started in August 2017.

The moped is powered by a Bosch electric motor installed in front of the rear axle. This drives the rear wheel via a toothed belt drive . The e-scooter reaches a top speed of 45 km / h and belongs to the EC vehicle class L1e. There are three driving modes to choose from for different performance levels, as well as a "crawl mode" for slow maneuvering including reverse gear. The Schwalbe can be equipped with either one or two permanently installed lithium-ion batteries, which are also supplied by Bosch. They are charged via an integrated charger. Like the KR51, the Schwalbe rides on 16-inch spoked wheels that are factory-covered with all-weather tires.

The Schwalbe is produced on demand in Wroclaw, Poland. It is sold via an online configurator . After production, the vehicle is delivered to the customer's address.

At EICMA 2017, Govecs presented the latest version of the Schwalbe . This belongs to the EC vehicle class L3e and is an electric light motorcycle. It drives a maximum of 90 km / h with a range of 90 km. The continuous electrical output of the motor is 8 kW with a battery capacity of 4.8 kWh. As with the previous version, the L1e, the drive train was developed in cooperation with Bosch. The faster version of the Schwalbe also has a 4.4-inch LCD display, lithium-ion batteries and a 1200 W fast charger that can fully charge the battery in 4½ hours; In quick charging mode, the Schwalbe reaches 50 percent of its charge level in 1 ¾ hours.

The swallow initially found widespread use in the area of scooter sharing in urban areas such as Munich and Berlin . It is often equipped with a modified luggage rack and topcase because there is insufficient storage space for the helmet under the bench.

Elly motor scooter

Elly, another scooter from Govecs, was presented at EICMA in Milan in November 2017. It's a connected electric scooter. It also has a 5.1-inch LCD display that can mirror the screen of a smartphone via an app and thus becomes an infotainment system. Among other things, it shows navigation, incoming messages and music playlists. Loudspeakers that are integrated into the scooter are optionally available. The e-scooter is also unlocked and started using the smartphone or a remote control. In addition, Elly offers theft protection and can be located via GPS. The electric scooter is driven by a wheel hub motor with either 2 or 3 kW continuous output. The range is up to 70 km at a top speed of 45 km / h. Bosch is the technology partner in the development of the Elly.

In February 2016, Govecs introduced the long-term rental model GO! Rent before. This enables companies to use electric scooters from the GO! S- and GO! Rent and use the T-Series for longer periods of time. This should eliminate the need for expensive and time-consuming fleet management. Insurance, maintenance, inspection and a mobility guarantee are included in the offer. Customers are primarily logistics and delivery companies as well as delivery services from various restaurant chains.
