The finds

The cemetery of Gardberg ( Norwegian Gardbergfeltet ) is a burial ground next to a since the Bronze Age populated place in Vestre Slidre in which Fylke Innlandet in Norway . The burial ground extends over more than two square kilometers.

The burial ground consists of over 1000 roes from the Iron Age and the Viking Age, some of which are piles of agricultural stones . On one of the larger burial mounds is the Einangstein , the oldest rune stone in Norway estimated at 300 AD , which is in its original location.

The finds are in the Valdres Museum in Fagernes. Among the finds is an Iron Age sword with a blade about 70 cm long.
