Grünsee is a hamlet and a lake of the same name near Zermatt in the Valais Alps at an altitude of 2300 m. Grünsee is located on the south side of the Findeltal, although the hamlet itself is closer to the Riffelalp , which no longer belongs to the Findeltal .

The lake is 108 meters long and up to 37 meters wide. Its area is a good 2000 square meters (0.2 hectares ).
There is a small mountain restaurant and a few holiday homes near Grünsee. The small hamlet is very remote and can only be reached via mountain trails. 2007 was chairlift Sunnegga - Findeln - Breitboden created. In winter there are over 200 km of cross-country ski runs and slopes, in summer mountain bike trails are signposted. The Grünsee is fed by the water from the Findel glacier and can be used for swimming.
