Grażyna Borkowska

Grażyna Borkowska (born April 11, 1956 in Stettin ) is a Polish literary historian and literary critic . In her scientific research she mainly deals with the literature of Polish women authors.

Life

Borkowska attended grammar school in Stettin and passed the Abitur there in 1975. She then studied Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw , where she obtained her master's degree in 1979 . She then took up postgraduate studies at the Institute for Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences , which she finished in 1983, and was employed there as a research assistant . With the work Dialog powieściowy i jego konteksty (na podstawie twórczości Elizy Orzeszkowej) she received her doctorate in 1985 and was employed as a research assistant . Since 1991 she has been a member of the editorial board of Res Publica magazine and since 1994 of Pamiętnik Literacki magazine . At the Instytut Badań Literackich she completed her habilitation in 1996 with the thesis Cudzoziemki. Studia o polskiej prozie kobiecej . She then gave seminars in gender studies at the University of Warsaw from 1996 to 1997 and lectured at the Instytut Badań Literackich from 1997. From 2009 to 2011 she was a member of the jury for the Nike Literature Prize .
