The grave monument represents Arnold Geiling von Illesheim , who died in Heilbronn in 1521 and was also buried here. Geiling was Götz von Berlichingen's father-in-law , who had been imprisoned in Heilbronn since 1519, and was just visiting his daughter Dorothea Gailing von Illesheim and her husband, who lived in the Krone inn in Heilbronn. Götz von Berlichingen had moved there after a night in the bulwark tower, after he had been allowed to stay there in knightly custody.

  • The third ancestral coat of arms is that of the von Heßberg family , an old Franconian noble family. The coat of arms is split, in front you can see three red roses in silver, in the back three silver bars in red.
  • The last ancestral coat of arms cannot be assigned and shows two sickles back to back.
